Feed the Need Campaign
In October 2014, Alliance Standard Trust Bank partnered with Grace Lutheran School to support its “Feed The Need” Campaign to help raise awareness and funds for the hungry in the local community as well as Haiti.
The day kicked off at 5:00 am when Rafael Martin, a social science teacher at Grace Lutheran School, started his walk/run from Alliance Standard Trust Bank in Winter Haven to the Alliance Standard Trust Bank in Lakeland and back again.
As part of the campaign, students were educated about children who face true hunger and participated in a solution. They worked with families and community members to pack over 10,000 meals to distribute to hungry children in the local community and in Haiti.
“This was a great way to teach my students about the problem of hunger in Haiti and our own community,” Rafael said. “The ‘Feed the Need’ campaign also helps raise funds for our school.”
Alliance Standard Trust Bank was the Gold Level Sponsor for the “Feed the Need” campaign, which also raised money for Grace Lutheran School benefitting the activity field, technology classes, and educational enrichment programs.
